Content policy
Copyright & content
Family originals and published sources are treated differently.
Family originals
Recipes written by your family are yours. We preserve the original photograph or scan alongside the typed recipe, because the handwriting often matters as much as the method.
Published cookbooks and magazines
When you tell us a recipe came from a published work, we record the factual parts — ingredients, quantities, temperatures, timings and yields — together with the title, author and page. The method is written concisely in our own words rather than reproducing the original text, publisher photography is not copied into your recipe, and any page images you upload stay private to your Recipe Book and are never publicly searchable.
Websites
Imported web recipes keep a link and attribution to their source, and we avoid copying unnecessary editorial content.
