Who provides Rita’s Recipes

Rita’s Recipes is provided by Dark Knight Holdings Ltd, trading as Rita’s Recipes, company number 16961271, registered office 36A Bulkington Road, Shilton, Coventry, England, CV7 9JT. You can contact us at support@ritasrecipes.co.uk.

Using the service

Rita’s Recipes is a private family recipe and memory service. By creating an account or using the signed-in service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the account features.

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure, using accurate contact information and taking reasonable care with invitation and share links.

Family members, invitations and share links

Recipe Books have Owners and other roles. Owners control membership and certain destructive actions. Plan limits apply to Recipe Book members; they do not turn a secure one-off share link into an additional member.

A live share link can be opened by somebody who receives it. Only send links to people you intend to share with, and revoke a link if it is forwarded or no longer needed.

Your content and other people’s information

You keep whatever rights you already have in content you upload. You give us a limited permission to host, process, back up, display and transmit that content only as needed to provide, secure and improve the features you choose.

Only upload content you have the right to use and share. If you add personal information about another person, including a child, use appropriate judgement and only add information you have a proper basis to share with the family members who can see it.

Copyright and published recipes

A recipe’s facts, written expression, photographs and page design can have different legal protections. Private storage does not automatically make copying lawful. Our Copyright & content policy explains how to use family originals, cookbooks and website sources responsibly.

Recipe capture and AI-generated transcription

Automated transcription can make mistakes. Where recipe-reading tools are available, you must check quantities, ingredients, temperatures, allergens and method steps before relying on the result. Recipe reading is subject to your Recipe Book allowance and service availability. You can type recipes manually if reading is unavailable.

Cooking, food safety and allergens

Recipes on Rita’s Recipes are primarily user-provided family content. They may be incomplete, old, adapted or wrong. Cooking Mode is a presentation and timer aid; it is not a food-safety certification, nutritional service or medical advice.

Check ingredients and allergen information yourself, follow appropriate food-storage and cooking-temperature guidance, and use particular care where allergies, pregnancy, young children, older people or compromised immunity are relevant. A saved dietary preference is a convenience and is not a substitute for checking the actual ingredients.

Acceptable use and safety

You must not use Rita’s Recipes to:

• upload or share content you do not have a right to use;
• access another family’s content without permission;
• harass, threaten, exploit or deceive another person;
• upload illegal content or use the service to facilitate unlawful activity;
• introduce malware, attack the service or bypass access controls; or
• scrape, resell or systematically extract other users’ private content.

See Safety & reporting to report illegal, harmful or infringing content. We may restrict sharing, remove content or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse or comply with law.

Plans and prices

Keepsake, Family and Heritage plan limits are shown on the pricing page and are enforced by the service where the relevant limit is live. Current member limits are 2 people total on Keepsake, 6 on Family and 12 on Heritage.

No paid checkout is connected today, so the displayed Family and Heritage prices are intended launch prices rather than a charge being taken now. Before we take payment, we will show the price, billing period, renewal/cancellation information and any statutory cancellation information that applies before you buy. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these terms.

Exports, deletion and continuity

You can download your account and Recipe Book information that you are authorised to see. Photos and scanned originals are listed, not included as files. A full download including these files is still being built and is not advertised as live.

Owners can remove a Recipe Book; it remains restorable for 30 days and is then scheduled for permanent deletion with its private stored recipe/memory media. Closing an individual account does not automatically erase family recipes, photographs, notes or memories already contributed to a shared Recipe Book. Direct identity links are removed or detached where the service model supports it; personal information inside family content can still be raised through a privacy request.

Availability and backups

We take reasonable steps to operate and protect the service, but no online service can promise uninterrupted availability or zero data loss. For genuinely irreplaceable family material, keep the original physical item and maintain your own copies as well.

Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not allow us to do so, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Subject to those rights, Rita’s Recipes is intended for personal and family use and we are not responsible for business losses arising from use of the service.

Ending or suspending access

You can stop using the service and close your account through Settings, subject to handing over or removing any Recipe Book you own. We may suspend or end access where reasonably necessary for security, serious or repeated breach of these terms, illegal use, or to comply with law. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and provide a way to contact us.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service or law changes. Material changes that affect existing account holders will be brought to their attention in a reasonable way before taking effect where required.

Law and complaints

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK, this does not remove mandatory rights or court protections available to you under the law that applies to you.

General questions can be sent to support@ritasrecipes.co.uk. Data protection complaints can be raised from Settings or by emailing privacy@ritasrecipes.co.uk. They are acknowledged within 30 days, investigated without undue delay, and the outcome is communicated to you.
